1. Check your Vietnam visa requirement
Before making a visa application, you should check the
Vietnam visa requirement to make sure if you do need a visa to Vietnam or not. If you are obliged to apply for a visa, you should make it early.
2. Check your passport validity
In order to enter Vietnam, your passport must be 6 months validity at least and there are blanks page for visa stamp. If your passport validity is less than 6 months or the stamps are filled in all pages, you should have a new passport.
3. Apply for visa on arrival or at a Vietnam Embassy
If you reside in the cities which is not far from Vietnam Embassy, you might go there to apply for a visa beforehand. Otherwise, you had better
apply for visa on arrival to save your time and money. It should be noticed that visa on arrival is available for air entry only.
4. Prepare some USD for stamping fee
At arrival airport, you are requested to pay some USDs in cash for visa stamping fee. The stamping fee will be 45 USD for 1 month or 3 months single entry visa; 65 USD for 1 month multiple entry visa and 95 USD for 3 months multiple entry visa.
5. Have an entry and exit form filled in advance
An entry and exit form will be given when you are on the plane or at arrival airport. However, it can be downloaded easily through our website
here and you should fill out in advance to save your time at Vietnamese airport side.
6. Two passport sized photos required
You should prepare at least two photo at the same size with the one in your passports. If you forget to bring it with, don't worry, you can have it taken at Vietnam airport at a cost of 3-5 USD
7. Check Vietnam public holidays
In the
public holidays, all governmental organizations will close for a few days and so the Vietnam Immigration Department and the Vietnam Embassy over worldwide are. Especially on Tet holidays, they might close for a week or 10 days. In order to not miss your visa on this occasion, you should apply for Vietnam visa in 7 - 10 days before your departure date.
8. Keep your passport and visa carefully
Passport, as commonly known is among the most important thing to keep along with wherever you go. Like other countries, Vietnam authorities may consider a serious problem once finding out you without passport.
Thus, you are advised to immediately contact the Ward Police (in the ward you are living to report the problem). Then contact with your country's Embassy in Vietnam to renew your passport and ask for a new visa. In case there is no your country's Embassy in Vietnam, then come directly to Vietnam Immigration Department for the help.
