From 1 February 2017, the citizens coming from 40 countries will be able to apply for 30-day, single entry tourists e-visa by paying a non-refundable application fee online. Like Vietnam visa on arrival, e-visa is processed online totally. With e-visa, the applicants can apply for Vietnam visa directly and receive an e-visa code via email (instead of visa approval letter). When the visitors arrive in Vietnam, they don't have to pay the stamping fee that will help them pass the immigration checkpoint quickly.
In 2017, the Australia passports haven't been supported with e-visa yet. Thus, they still have 2 traditional options: apply for Vietnam visa on arrival or apply for visa at the Vietnam Embassy or Consulates in Australia.
Vietnam visa on arrival can be 1 month, 3 months or even 6 months to 1 year, single or multiple entry which will be helpful for those who travel Vietnam more than 30 days or multiple entry and exit.
