Vietnam - Peru relations
Diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Peru were established
on January 14th, 1994. Vietnam’s Embassy in Chile is
concurrently in charge of Peru and Peru’s Embassy in Thailand is
concurrently in charge of Vietnam. In March 2007, Vietnamese
Foreign Affairs Minister appointed Vietnam Honorary Consul to
Lima and its suburb.
Peru supported Vietnam’s accession to the WTO and Vietnam’s
candidacy for a non-permanent membership of the UN Security
Council, term 2008-2009.
The two countries have signed several cooperation agreements in
the fields of economics, trade, agriculture, sea food, science
and technology, visa exemption for diplomatic and service
passport holders… The two sides have also signed an agreement on
cooperation within APEC. Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and
Industries has signed a Cooperation Agreement with Peru National
Chamber of Commerce.
How Peruvian citizens apply for Vietnam visa?
Vietnam Immigration policy regulates that all Peru passport
holders need to apply for
Vietnam visa before entering the countries. From
Peru, you can get a visa to Vietnam by two 2 options:
1. Get Vietnam visa on arrival easily at lower cost:
Visa on arrival is beneficial for those who live far away from
the Vietnamese embassies and do not wish to send their passports
away by postal mail.
- Issuing unit:
Vietnam Immigration Department
- Processing time: 1 to 2 working days
- No passport send off required
- How it works? You go online at
http://www.vietnamvisabooking.com, fill in the
secured form, and just wait 36 hour to 2 working days
(normal service) or within 1 working day (urgent service) to get
your Visa Approval Letter via email. Taking this letter of
approval, your passport, 2 photos and US$25 (for single entry)/
US$50 (for multiple entry) as stamping fee to get your visa at

2. Get Vietnam entry visa at Vietnam Embassy in Peru:
At present, there is no information about the Embassy of Vietnam
in Peru. However, Peruvian citizens or residents in Peru can
still apply for a Vietnam visa by choosing between two following
options:
- Visit the nearest Vietnam Embassy in the neighbouring country
(Chile) to apply for a visa by yourself, or
- You apply online at

visa on arrival (picked up at the arrival airport in Vietnam)
